2013 Mengku "Wild Arbor King" Raw Pu-erh Tea Cake

Funky, but not in a good way for me.

There's an initial funky bitterness that I don't particularly like. It definitely does develop a nice sweetness, but it doesn't really resolve the funk. Don't get me wrong, I like funk, just not this funk. I am inclined to call it a kind of smokiness, which I normally like, so maybe it has something to do with brewer. At any rate, I would recommend getting a sample first.
