Designed For Truck Beds, But Fits Full-Size Vans Too

Although the Expedition Box was designed to fit truck beds, it works just fine in the Ram Promaster. There is enough room between the wheel wells to expand the Expedition Box into a double-bed configuration, no problem. Setting up the Expedition Box took a little longer than I had expected, but I blame that on my lack of mechanical aptitude. The combination of storage space underneath the Expedition Box (when extended lengthwise) and the storage space inside the slide-out drawer yields a tidier look and a more efficient use of the space inside my van. In essence the Expedition Box declutters my van setup. I keep the Expedition Box expanded in the single-bed configuration all the time. I'm 6'4" and slender, and there is just enough length for me to sleep without bending my knees. Although it is unlikely I will ever need to expand it into the double-bed configuration, I attached the double-bed frames anyway just in case I have a guest. Since my Promaster van is the high-rooftop version, I have room to stand without touching my head. If Vanpackers ever designs an Expedition Box specifically for full-size vans, increasing its height and length would obviously increase storage capacity, and make a bed platform that accommodates the many, many van campers out there who are 6’4" and beyond.
