Proline PLFW 750 - Ducted Wall-Mounted Range Hood, 900/1100 CFM | Stainless Steel Finish

Good product, with a major caveat.

The PLFW750 looks great in my kitchen, it seems to be very high quality, and it certainly works as effectively as you'd expect for an 1100CFM hood vent. That said, the included chimney sleeves are extremely skimpy at barely over 30" total height. I need about 36" of chimney to reach my ceiling, and Proline charges an absolutely absurd $500 for an extension kit. Five. Hundred. Dollars. For two pieces of sheet metal. When I only need one piece that is maybe 6" longer than the one in the box. For reference, that is basically one third of the total cost of the hood vent. Why Proline doesn't allow customers to select the correct chimney length for inclusion with the original hood vent order -- with a reasonable upcharge -- is beyond me. As it stands, I'll be spending $500 and I'll be left with two or three large pieces of sheet metal that will now end up in a landfill. The product is great if it fits your space exactly. Otherwise, you'll save a lot of money buying a hood vent from a company that sends larger chimney segments by default.
