Awesome when on a budget
Bought this little gem for about €150,- where most other (“premium brands”) light weight tents go easily from €500+ here in the Netherlands. Went camping past week with a mate where the weather conditions were like we know so well over here; thunderstorms, heavy rain and lots of wind. The perfect conditions to put this tent up for a challenge.
Setting it it up is extremely user friendly, even in the dark, took me 20minutes setting it up for the first time with no daylight. After laying down the (included!) footprint you just connect the aluminium tube frame and then connect the inner with tube clamps on the frame. There are also a few Velcro connections for the tube to connect the outer skin.
The overall build quality in this price range is exceptional imo; the tent stakes, the footprint outer shell connections and adjustability, the low packing weight. The only downer I can think of are the storm lines, they claim they are reflective and visible in the dark (with a light source) but these puppy’s are like ninjas; even with a flashlight up close you couldn’t tell where they are…
Like I’ve mentioned above the conditions were a bit challenging, For five days it was raining in average for 35mm an hour for a period of 4/5 hours with 70/80km an hour winds. It held up exceptionally, only water that came in was my doing entering or exiting. The front tent a bit small and only suitable to store some shoes or such. I would say this is a very challenging tent for two, but an almost perfect one for one.
