Great Shoe (hart to fit)

This boot is well made of high quality materials. It's stout and supportive. The fit is a bit tight in the toe, requiring up-sizing which can allow some slip on downhills. A leather topping on the tongue would facilitate some fit "memory" that forms better to your foot over tim. Overall a very good boot.

Great low cut hiking shoe

In NW Montana. I hike on a lot of rocky trails and this boot meet my needs. Sometimes my Mescalito boots or Moraine MID are more then I need and the Moraine Low works great. Just like the Moraine MID, fantastic traction and the underfoot offers great protection in scree and talus. Because of the support, the Moraine required some break-in mileage with the upper. It started as a good fit and the comfort of the upper improved nicely without losing support. I normally wear a 46 in Scarpa and the Moraine is true to size. My feet are lower volume, with a narrow heel, higher instep and almost E-Width forefoot. The Moraine has slightly more volume then needed in the heel but enough room in the instep and toe box for an overall very good fit. I prefer to compromise on very minor heel slippage vs a forefoot that is too narrow.
