Ironwood 885 PMG Gen2 GRATE Rack System 2 Racks

The grills are nice and i love having them. Makes a huge difference. I would give it 5 stars other than the fact at this price it should come with new stainless screws. I went to home depot and spent $7 on all new stainless screws instead of having to reuse my old ones that were steel and blackened.

Actually lets you get more than one rack of space / cooking

Love these new racks. The biggest issue I've had with my grill before the upgrade is that while it says you have 885 square inches of cooking space, the top rack gets in the way so much that you can't really use it well. Either it keeps you from using the bottom rack well or you can't get to the back of the top rack. This really fixes that in a great way. Here are a couple tips for those who get this. 1 - if you have never removed the side panels of your ironwood 885, they have installed them in a way that you can not unscrew it without a MANUAL impact driver. If you try anything else you will strip multiple screws and if you call customer support they won't help and claim it voided a warranty or something and that they warned you (which they do in some deep dark FAQ that you will never see until you strip a screw and look for a solution). Get a manual impact driver (not electric) and they will come out pretty easily. I got a pretty good one for about $20 on amazon. If you do strip a screw, the heat from grilling previously made the metal soft enough that the screw extractor kits were worthless. I used a rotary tool to cut a big slit/notch in it turning it into a giant Flathead screw, then the impact driver got those out too. 2 - if you do strip the screw you can't reuse it. Traeger was useless, didn't have any replacements I could get from them and couldn't even tell me what the screw was to buy a replacement on my own. I took one of the good ones I removed from another spot and was able to figure out they are #8-32 thread size machine screws, length 3/8". Just don't get zinc coated ones since those can be toxic when heated. The originals look like stainless steel, I read online black oxide is higher heat resistance so that may be an option too. I still really like the grates, but could have used some of this info when installing. It took me a week to do it since I stripped some screws and needed to order both an impact driver and replacement screws. But now that it's installed I've done a few cooks and really like the system overall. In fact I bought the size i did for the cooking space, but if I had these grates as an option, I may have bought a smaller sized grill for less and used this system to get my extra cooking space.

Firs perfectly, the only problem I had was because my smoker is not new and two screws steipped when i tried removing them. I bought new ones.
