Choffy Brewed Cacao - French Roast Sampler Set

New Choffy Drinker

I have to give up coffee because of stomach ulcers. I was drinking Americanos from my home espresso machine. I like the darker roasts and decided to start with the French Roast Sampler set. What I am looking for is a brew that has a fuller mouth feel like I have with coffee. I am OK with a little bitterness, but not too much. I am also interested in a smooth aftertaste. Here's my takeaway after trying these three. The Ivory Coast seemed the thinnest in the mouth, but it did have a smooth feel that was good. (They were all obviously thin compared to my Americano.) The Ecuador was the one I thought I would prefer, but I found it just a little too bitter. The Nigeria was easiest to drink, but was lacking the body and smoothness. So, I mixed the Ivory Coast with the Ecuador thinking it would lessen the bitterness. But it still had the bitterness. I then mixed the Ivory Coast and the Nigeria. That wasn't too bad. I was glad to be able to try these. I have now ordered the Dark Roast Sampler Set. I will see if I prefer something a little less dark than the French Roast. P.S. I gave up coffee one other time and tried Crio Bru--I think the Venezuela Medium Roast. It wasn't quite there either, so I wanted to try Choffy this time. So far, not too bad.
