Nigeria Dark Choffy Brewed Cacao

Nigeria is my choice as a coffee replacement

Background: I had to give up coffee (stomach ulcers). I was preparing my own espresso and making an Americano. I enjoy dark roast coffee beans. Goal: To find a Choffy roast that can replace my morning coffee. What I am looking for is a drink that provides a coffee-like experience. I drink my dark roast Americano coffee black. Brewing Process: Using the dark roast sampler packs, I brewed each using a French press. I steeped each for about 4 minutes, then stirred them again and steeped another 4 minutes. By the way, I first tried the French Roast samples. They all were just a little too bitter for me. Review: I picked the Nigeria as my choice for a coffee replacement. All of the dark roasts were thin, but that was the conflict of the chocolate flavor that in my mind meant it should be “richer.” But I was not looking for a rich chocolate drink; I wanted a dark roast coffee replacement. The Nigeria has that hint of bitterness which I like. It is not real chocolatey or sweet. It has a slight chocolate aroma. Nothing about this brew is overpowering in any way. It leaves no aftertaste, and it is easy to drink. I can drink it without thinking about it being a chocolate-based drink. It’s my choice!

Nigeria Dark Choffy satisfies my desire for bold yet smooth chocolatey flavor. I have enjoyed Choffy for over 5 years and this is one of my favs!
