Kansha Matcha

Adding this to my favorites!

I didn't think anything could top my current favorite matcha, and then Astrid Tea dropped Kansha and here we are. I'll be honest, I don't always pick up on the tasting notes that are listed in descriptions, but this one was different. The dark chocolate comes through more in the fragrance, while the toasted brown rice really shines in the flavor itself. There's also a nice umami finish that rounds everything out. This matcha is meant to be enjoyed as a koicha, so as a latte it comes out incredibly rich. It's not the creamiest matcha I've had, but the depth of flavor more than makes up for it. I've been slowly realizing I gravitate toward samidori cultivars, and Kansha confirmed that for me. I'm already planning to use this for matchaffogatos and I have a feeling it's going to be perfect for it. If you're a matcha enthusiast looking for something with real complexity, this is one to try.
