Japan Yame Kuma 'Sencha Okuyutaka' Green Tea

Great easy drinking sencha

Brewed with 70C water I can get three steepings from this tea even in a large mug. Lovely comforting sweet/savoury sencha flavour.

This was surprising to me - the leaves were very small and created a thick, brothy, savoury liquor, with high umami. I enjoyed - but this is strong for a sencha! Perhaps if you use a fine filter you would have a cleaner experience - quite a lot of particles got through the filter in my kyusu.

Fantastic sencha

Definitely one of the sweetest senchas I've tried. My mom's tasting notes are "freshly cut grass" and I'd agree with her! You can definitely count on getting refreshing grassy notes with it being a sencha, but it's also very creamy and sweet so a great option even for people who normally don't drink green teas because of bitterness.
