Exceptionally good for the money, but not "perfect"

TL;DR: I highly recommend this set unless your pockets are just overflowing with cash and don't know how to spend it all. Won't be perfect quality, but it'll be plenty good enough quality. When I first got this set I was a bit worried since the boxes were completely messed up during shipping (see pictures--the barbell was literally falling out of the tube at my doorstep), but *thankfully* all the equipment wasn't damaged from shipping (somehow). Also worth noting the shipping was insanely quick (literally 2 or 3 days from order to at my doorstep, if memory serves). What I can say is that this stuff is very solid, but absolutely nowhere close to perfect. For instance, the barbell end cap looks like it has a laminate still on it that never got removed during manufacturing. And one of the bends of the EZ-curl bar has a slight edge to it that isn't enough to hurt you but you can feel it during use (one of those "once you see it you can't unsee it" sort of things). Knurling is also pretty weak by my standards, but "good enough" for an EZ-curl bar. The plates also have a pretty shoddy paint job (some paint got on random parts of the plate and completely missed others), but I also didn't pick these plates because of their paint job. Last, tolerances between the plates and the bar itself are a little loose. Again, these are all smaller things--just don't expect perfection if you buy this product. I was most interested in the weight plates since their advertised tolerances are pretty good--on my bad scale, they were within tolerance (worst plate was like 0.2 lbs off), but that scale isn't great--tbd on how they fare against a better scale that I'll try in the next week or two here. Will update review if I find they are more off than I think.

Excellent value

My loadable dumbbell set arrived in good condition and good time. They seem to be very high quality, fitting tight enough to not clack substantially when I lift. I like the aesthetic a lot, especially the logo on the dumbbell caps. The paint on the plates seems like it could chip, but so far it hasn’t been an issue. It did seem like the shipping carriers didn’t handle the packages well, as the boxes were really torn up. That’s not Barbell Standard’s fault in my opinion though, so no points off. Really great set!
