Tritium Compass 3H - Coyote Brown

I purchased this compass to keep in my car. I was looking for one that would be able to withstand hot and cold temps. I recently decided to ditch my smartphone for a Light phone.... so no more google maps. I have a Garmin for long trips and a NYS map I keep in my glove box. I figured it wouldnt hurt to have a compass in case I ever need to use the map. I've never owned a compass like this but once I read the directions and watched a youtube video, I got the hang of how to site/orient it. I probably didnt need to buy top of the line but I wanted something I could rely on and that would be ok to leave in the car all year around. I'm happy with my purchase and now feel compass savvy :-)

I have not had the opportunity to use my new compass yet...but im chomping at the bit to do so. I love the night time illumination feature as well as the very precise and excellent construction of the compass...feels solid and extremely well built. Im heading to New Mexico in the next week for a mountain adventure and to see my daughter who is stationed at Kirkland AFB. Stay tuned for addition intel and a photo or 2.! Excellent quality, really like the Coyote Brown color. Recently used it in a land nav exercise - worked great.
