It exceeded my expectations, both in appearance and sound. It's a beautiful looking set. and the sound is melodic and powerful. I've never owned a Gretsch drum set, (I've had Pearl, Slingerland, Yamaha, Tama, Ludwig) but I'm definitely a fan now. If you're on the fence about buying this, pull the trigger. I recently ordered the Gretsch 7 pc Catalina Maple shell pack from Drum Center of Portsmouth. James was excellent and full of information as I asked many questions prior to the actual purchase. Communication from DCP was excellent and timely prior to shipment. Shipment was very quick, and receipt of the product was earlier than I expected. The drums are absolutely beautiful, and the maple color, exclusive to Drum Center of Portsmouth is breath-taking! All in all, a great experience!
