Loving my Giant shoes. Just used them for the first time doing UTA100. I took a back up pair of Trail Devils but didnt feel the need to change shoes. Ive got 6 pairs of Tarkines so that says it all.

Cape to Cape Track

I picked up a pair of Tarkine Giants just before taking on the Cape to Cape track in WA ~135km over 5 days, mixed terrain, long hours, and plenty of sand. The shoes were comfortable out of the box with minimal break-in required. I went straight into multi-day hiking and had no major hotspots or blisters. There’s plenty of stack underfoot offering adequate cushioning and helped manage fatigue. On long days (6–8 hours), my legs felt noticeably less beaten up compared to firmer trail and hiking shoes. The grip was exceptional across mixed terrain. They handled sand, compact trails, and rocky sections without any real issues and seemed to be consistently reliable over the 5 days. Surprisingly stable given the size of the midsole. I didn’t have any ankle scares, even on uneven sections. I found these shoes to be solid and dependable, offering comfort and protection over long days on a trail that had varied terrain, while I was carrying a bit of weight.
