D8000 Pro
I've been looking at upgrading my theater sub for quite some time. I looked at and heard several brands from PSA, Paradigm, SVS, and Rythmik. When I saw the Spec Of Tech (Barrett) review, I immediately put the D8000 Pro on the very short list. After talking with Aamir and understanding his approach of a no-nonsense customer first philosophy, I ordered one immediately. Aamir reassured me that being a new(ish) product, some clients of his might have concerns about longevity (reliability)...not to mention, I'm in the US, so there are Customs issues with international shipments. Anyone worried about those aspects can put it to bed...everything, and I mean everything went as smoothly as one can hope. DHL was used to get it to the shipping hub and was then passed off to Special Delivery shipping Co. They all kept me in the loop during the entire process, which only took 5 business days (Customs inspection took up 2 of those days). On to performance...although, I've only had this BEAST for a few weeks, I couldn't be happier! Day 1 was a call from Aamir to help me through the initial setup phase. He was gracious enough to spend about 20 minutes on the phone with me (I'm not very savvy with apps and their corresponding technology...this was super easy). After 20 minutes, I was off to movie time. Without getting into too many movie details, the best compliment I can give this subwoofer is that half way through my first screening (Wanted w/ Angelina Jolie) I hopped on Amazon and proceeded to order about 15 of my favorite classic movies from the 90s - early 2000s. For reference, my room is 3,000 cubic ft. and this sub has no issues pressurizing my space, NONE! I've had an absolute BLAST with this subwoofer. So much so, that I've been running it through it's paces with concert blurays as well. This sub isn't just a movie subwoofer. It's performance is head shakingly good for music as well. I haven't even felt the need to dive into the plethora of options on the VERY user friendly app. So far, it's been a "set it and forget it"piece. I will eventually explore the EQ mode along with room size options (normal/bass heavy etc..) I'm also going to use the REW mini DSP eventually, but for now, it's all about the fun of watching new movies and revisiting old favorites. Thank you, Aamir....for everything! I'm contemplating getting another one for my near field placement behind the couch...spring of 2025 😉
