Sumatra Mandehling is a completely new aroma and taste experience for me with no basis of comparison; it's new, light, and subtle with a slow arrival of its flavor bouquet. When opening the bag, the unroasted bean aroma requires you to think and discern carefully what the scent notes are trying to express to your sensorium. It's mysterious, invoking curiosity prior to the grinding process. More mystery occurs after a grind, and the aroma notes are also a new sensation. The brew; It's also unique, and the flavor avoids the roof of the mouth whilst remaining delightfully everywhere else. A slight astringent character is new and welcome, and I love this bean and its roast character. Bravo to the artists who crafted this bean roast. I look forward to experimenting with blending this bean with others.

I absolutely love Sumatra Mandehling. Dark roasted to a beautiful color. Really brings out the richness of this single-origin coffee. Highly recommended.
