# 🖥️ MSI Vector AIB HX A9W Laptop Review — From a Lifelong Builder’s Perspective I received the laptop on time with secure, protective packaging. Booted up without a hitch, and I’m happy to report zero dead pixels. That’s always my first check—passed with flying colors. ## 👨‍💻 Keyboard & Build Still adjusting to the keyboard layout—there's no right-side `Ctrl` key, which throws off decades of muscle memory. I might try remapping the CoPilot key to reclaim some sanity. That said, the keys are wonderfully tactile and impressively quiet. Typing on this is a pleasure, which matters a lot in my line of work. ## 🖼️ Display Quality The 18" display is one of the standout features. Images are crisp, colors pop, and it's bright enough to punch through my workspace glare. Great for both technical work and gaming. ## 🌡️ Thermals & Performance During casual use (email, news browsing), CPU temps hover around `56–76°C` and GPU barely moves (`~47°C`, probably idle). While gaming with *Age of Empires IV*, temps climb: CPU between `85–93°C` and GPU between `75–85°C`. These numbers are concerning over extended sessions, so I’m looking into ways to manually bump fan speeds—especially since the unit runs whisper-quiet even under load. Side venting handles most of the heat dissipation, though the system tends to run warm overall. Bottom of unit doesn't get anywhere near as warm as the sides so I don't think a cooler tray would help. The power brick? Let’s just say it doubles as a handy mug warmer. Functional multitasking ☕🔥 ## 🔋 Battery Life & Gaming Experience Battery life while gaming is not great—about an hour max. After that, framerates drop to `~30fps` and image quality tanks.
