I've built quite a few dulcimers over the years ... because I enjoy building. But I also play. Some of them get sold, some given as gifts. I always include an extra set of strings with the "sells" and "gives". and those I play obviously will need a string change periodically. Bulk string purchase is the way to go. A money saver and I'm never without strings (making them a time saver, too. Same great quality as those sold in sets.
