Sew Creative Wool Pressing Mat

Love the big felt for my big ironing board, seems to work well. There was some odor initially, so I put it outside in the sun all day to try to get rid of it. That got rid of most of it, but I can still smell it a little after a week. It 'grabs' my iron a little, and my iron is relatively new with a very shiny stainless-steel base. It does seem to hold the heat a little better. I am a little concerned that you're not supposed to use moisture/water spray - that sure helps keep seams pressed.

Using this mat has really upped my quilt making. Blocks are more controlled by the even heat of the mat. I've been able to lower the temperature some on my iron to make the two work in harmony. I believe that this will up my quilt making.

I have wanted the wooden big board for a very long time so when I ordered it for myself for my birthday I decided to add this large wool ironing mat. I have used many over the years of quilting and yes.... a FEW have had the "sheep" smell to them that usually comes out with a good airing or some time in the sun but this one is HORRENDOUS! I can't even bring it inside our house because my kids and my hubby just complain about how terrible it smells and they are correct. I can't believe there aren't any other reviews about this issue or maybe I just got a really bad one. But this is the absolute worst. The smell actually makes me sick to my stomach so I will be reaching out to customer service to return this. I'm so disappointed but there is no way that this stench will get any better.
