Ice Wrangler would benefit from load lifter strap options.
This is for the Ice Wrangler 35L (Revision). 6’ / 183cm, 210lbs / 95 kg - used for first time on Helens / Loowit, carried 25lbs / 11kg at TH. I absolutely needed to DIY load lift straps prior as the pack without them felt like it was peeling off my back. For comparison this HMG is replacing an old nylon Cilo Gear 30l. I was able to neatly carry snowshoes, helmet (with a Blue Ice helmet net), tool, and crampons in the HMG crampon case. I did attach a different brand bottle pouch to a shoulder strap and that worked fine for a 1l bottle. This HMG pack was great. No problems or pain with the carrying, no sway, no early signs of wear from glissades, drops or gear friction. Obviously I cannot speak to durability yet, but I was happy with it and appreciate the back stretch pocket. For the improvised load lift straps I grabbed two Zpacks Lineloc V with Loops and used some 2mm cord to run from two webbing loops above the shoulder straps to the shoulder strap daisy chain webbing. I believe I’ll need a better long term option as this may put too much stress on the daisy bartacks. Anyhow, overall so-far glad for the purchase, glad for the pack!

Ice Wrangler version review
Love this pack! First of all as a native Washingtonian and lifelong Cascades climber I'm just stoked to rep High Mountain Gear out there. Pack gets a lot of compliments and I just really like the "alpine" look it has. I feel cool when I wear this pack. I've used it for ice climbing, ski touring, day hikes, and cragging this winter. It performs well in all of those uses. Excels in the ice climbing category, obviously. It's designed primarily for ice but works very well for light/fast ski tours w/ minimal transitions. The stretchy front pocket works great for stashing wet skins. It's extremely durable, simple, and light. Fits everything for small to big day trips or an ultralight overnight. Typical of HMG products, it has all the essential features you need w/ none of the fancy bells and whistles that are sometimes fiddly/easy to break on other packs (I'm looking at you, side / back panel access zippers....)

Absolutely fantastic
I have used this bag for ice ever since I got it. It’s super light and durable, no worry about sharp points, it can fit everything and more that I need for a day or day+ of ice climbing or touring. Ice tools and skis are secure on the outside.
