Atom RE 40
Having used the Atom RE 40 for a few overnight camps and one long distance trail I am very pleased with it's performance. It carrys 6kg comfortably with no problems and provides amble storage for a full lightweight camping setup inc food for a few days. I love the accessability of the side pockets while still wearing the pack and the extra capacity of the front stretch pocket is ideal for waterproofs. I purchased the webbing hip belt as well but some reviews had stated that the retaining clips keep coming undone during use. I secured the clips closed with a couple of small cable ties and had no issues over a full week of walking. Overall, a great piece of kit which is well made, practical and very light. Hopefully my Atom will be with me for many years to come.

One year in and still loving it.
This pack has been very versatile. I’ve used it for Scottish winter climbing (easy to add an ice axe loop, the one which comes with the bag is flimsy) , hiking, scrambling, casual holidays, bouldering trips (back straps perfectly to a boulder pad!) and my daily work commute. It is strong, spacious, packs down to almost nothing, and is generally excellent. I’ve even been complimented on its looks a few times. I love the large side pockets, the stretchy back pocket, and the bottom pocket. The simplicity of the pack is a real strength, as it makes it more flexible than others I’ve had in the past. A year in, the back is still holding up very well despite daily use, and I don’t even treat it particularly well. This is especially impressive compared to my AliExpress ultralight pack, which began disintegrating after six months. Overall a great purchase!

Love this pack
Bought the Atom 40 last year and used it for 7 days on the swcp and all the Cotswold way. I added the hip belt from the start and had no problem carrying my tent ( xmid pro 2) sleep pad (xtherm loft large) quilt, clothes, toiletries, snacks and water, I don’t carry a cook system as I eat cereal bars, fruit nuts etc which I carry. Definitely could fit a gas canister and small burner if I wanted to. I found the pack comfortable and extremely enjoyable to use, who doesn’t love a secret pocket at the bottom of their pack! If I wanted a larger pack I would buy the pulse 50 but the temptation then is to carry more gear which defeats the object, maybe if I’m going for longer than 7 days. Highly recommend.
