I wish it was better. Plastic is flimsy, but I guess the reasoning is to be lighter. But still, it feels really cheap. The pieces don’t really snap together well, and come undone sometimes. And then there’s the cheap zip ties that you have to use to keep it from falling apart. Paying this much for a product shouldn’t require something so crude. Putting on the mesh and securing it with the loops is pretty difficult. And it’s somewhat comfortable for about 10 minutes with nothing in your pack. If you load it with 2L water and more, it will dig in. It’s just plastic against your back. The mesh is pretty thin so that won’t help.

This was great to have for a week of hiking. I definitely noticed a difference in how much cooler my back was. My only complaint is I don’t like the way the detachable part on the upper frame is secured. It detarches itself a little too easily.

You can give Steven with My Life Outdoors for the push that made me pull the trigger. I bought a new Durston Kakwa 55 and went on one short hike, and sweat enough to soak the back of the bag. Bought the Frame and went on a longer hike and sweat like crazy -- no frame would fix that -- but the bag was largely spared. Better yet, I didn't feel it was even back there. Worth the bargain price!
