I ordered this cutterhead hoping to remedy the frequency with which I was having to sharpen and reset the knives on my jointer. The new cutterhead arrived in a timely manner, very well packaged and undamaged! The installation was a breeze and setup took five minutes. I couldn't stop laughing as I ran random pieces across the cutterhead. Simply amazing.

LOVE the new cutter!!! Not so happy with the lack of instructions regarding how to torque the cutters. The removal of the old head and subsequent removal/re-install of the bearings was pretty painless. I used a hydraulic press with some shims as I did not have a small enough flywheel puller. Re-insertion of the new one was a dead perfect fit (bearings provided by FindBuy). Now re-aligning to the bolts on the jointer was not much fun but a Jointer issue and not the tool. Well before this step, I reached out to FindBuy to get the torque settings. Email was my only choice as could not find a phone number. Radio silence on first and second email so as I needed the jointer, I winged it. Big mistake. I had read they can shatter and that was very true. I shattered one so used a little less torque on remaining ones. Shattered another so now only had 1 more spare (you get 30 and need 27). I thought I finished with one spare but then when verifying I had all installed, found another shattered one. Last spare used though. But....This head is dead nuts on right from the start and once I set the outfeed to just BARELY touch a cutter, off to the races! I ran a 8/4 white oak board and cut like butter! Quiet as well as my old blades would 'click'. I did just get a response to one one of my notes (I tried using the 'Contact us' and then the 'service' email address on latest note to them) and they state they are reviewing my submission. I have to order spare cutters in blocks of 10 so while costly, I should have plenty of blades when I order! If you were on the fence about upgrading, just do it! I am NOT very mechanically skilled and I did so anyone can! YOUTUBE had a video for my actual machine so that helped as well.
