Toffee & Caramel Half Caffeine

Absolutely lovely, really mellow and creamy, half the caffeine so you can drink twice as much 😊

After a positive experience with the Chocolate Fudge Cake half caffeine, I thought I’d give the Toffee and Caramel half caffeine a try. After emerging from my pit, post ambulance night shift, I shuffled grumpily downstairs to the kitchen. There, my Cafelat Robot and DF54 were waiting for me to try my first brew with these new beans. I sacrificed a few beans initially to purge any remnants of the last ones. I didn’t adjust the DF54 settings and just stuck 18g through as a first attempt. Pushing the shot through, I was immediately aware of bonfire toffee notes. 28 seconds to get 36g out so the grind setting was pretty much bob on. My grumpiness gradually dispersed as I sat down to take my first sips on an americano. The coffee was smooth a buttery to drink with hints of caramel. Even after finishing my coffee 30 minutes ago, my palate thinks I’ve had a ‘non specific caramel hard boiled often found at the grandparents house sweet’ I don’t drink milk but I can imagine these beans would be well suited. There’s nice hints of toffee and caramel but not so overpowering that it takes away from the coffee experience. Sterling job by Kev and the team in providing this reduced caffeine option. I’m off to make myself another!

Subtle but flavoursome

1kg pre-ground for a French Press. This coffee needs to ‘sit’ in the press for a little longer than usual to extract the full flavour from this it, but when you get the brew time right this is a lovely easy drinking coffee with a nice creamy texture.
