Maitai Tomato

Growing well into July in Michigan.

Maitai is new for me this year. So far I am very pleased. It is vigorous, heathy, and so far productive. I have it container grown in high end soil. There are no signs of disease and I have many flowers and good fruit set. I grow 20 plus plant every year and always try new ones. If the taste is there, this will make the list next year. I am a retired greenhouse retail grower.

Third year growing Mai Tai

Love Mai Tai. They go on and on all summer. I'm waiting for this years crop but I'm happy to right a review now. Whether they ripened on the table or on the vine, they were great. I learned that squeezing them was the best indication of how ripe they are because the coloring is vivid fairly early. Great slicing and in a mixed roasted tomato sauce. Love this tomato.

Long window of productivity

These tomatoes are beautiful and very fresh-tomato delicious. And they have a unique look on the plate, which is fun. But I was most impressed with the productivity. We had a very hot, dry summer, and could not keep up with watering, so most of our plants died early. But these kept producing abundantly right up till frost. I picked up lots of green Maitai tomatoes from the ground after the big frost, and put them in brown paper bags to ripen. They all rioened, and now it's almost Christmas and we are still eating fresh Maitai tomatoes from that one plant. Our Inigo cherry tomatoes and our Paruch Cherry tomatoes did the same thing, but no other large tomato, and we grew 14 varieties.
