Vanille Supermassive

Subtly sweet masculine woods

I was let down by the gap between my expectations for this scent and what it actually smells like. My first impression was that it was surprisingly green. I then got the spice notes, and it settled into a warm woodsiness. It’s airy from the ambroxan, which is one of my favorite notes. But the vanilla is far off in the background, giving a subtle boozy sweetness, which wasn’t my hope for that note. The scent leans masculine. I’m a woman, and I’ll be giving it to a scent-loving male friend. I wouldn’t recommend it at all if you came for the vanilla like I did, but it’s definitely for someone who enjoys a distinctive woodsy scent. I can’t knock it as a composition, despite not being something I would wear. I’d like to smell it on someone else. I have to disagree with the other reviewer though. Mimosa Supercritique is the best of this house, in my opinion.

An interesting, complex vanilla

This was a nice complex vanilla, not your typical super sweet gourmand vanilla. It’s good, but not my favorite from the house. Ambre Supermassive is still hands down their best fragrance
