It’s lightweight and has a comfortable grip position. Looks beautiful as well. Though, the vibrant color does scratch off on the areas that grind against the mortar; not in a bad way though.

Mortar & Pestle of My Dreams!
I've been coveting a mortar and pestle for years but could never commit to one. Then, I found KROK and my dreams have been fulfilled! I love this mortar and pestle! The size, design, and utility of it are all that and more. I love the cork ring that helps to protect my counter, dampen the sound, and allow for more stability when mortaring and pestling. This a very thoughtfully designed product, which makes for efficient and fun cooking. I invested in the mango wood pestle as well and found it well worth it. I'm looking forward to years of good use of my KROK products. As a newbie to the mortar and pestle scene, I'm learning lots and especially appreciate the helpful how-to videos that KROK puts out. Come Christmas time, I'm going to buy one of these beauties for a fellow foodie friend. Beautiful product, worthy investment!
