If someone informed me 4 years ago that I would be sleeping with a weighted koala bear for support ... my laughter would have shaken the rafters. Yet here I am, 6 months into the death of my spouse and clutching "Quigley" as a comfort in the night. Believe it or not ... this weighted creature calms my body which has been in flight-or-fight mode for months now. Acute grief has triggered my body and emotion state into a high alert status. I purchased several of these weighted animals for myself. I find them very comforting, not unlike the weight of a dog leaning against you while sitting on the couch. My one star off rating is due to my preference that the larger animals be a bit floppier. Almost like the “arms” of the wrap around versions, to have a more blanket like feel.

Shoulders relax

I live alone and need hugs. Whenever I pick my Koala - which I renamed to KiKi - my shoulders relax. I am grateful for that. KiKi is making my day less stressful.
