Great little piece of essential equipment. I live in Minnesota and hike a good deal of the trails there year. Lightweight and covers all the bases. Definitely buy this if you hike a lot (or a little) every bit helps to reduce human contamination.

Arrived as advertised. I was especially pleased at the light weight construction and the handle/storage. Well designed and sturdy product, you could easily dig a hole with this device even if it has small stones and rubble. However, it is made of aluminum so after some time, it may not last if you use it too aggressively to chop a hole in rocky ground. But it will certainly give you years of service provided you take care and be selective where you use it

Few picky things I noticed

Overall I think it’s an awesome idea and great for the environment. The trowel is still and sturdy for digging holes, which is a bonus over using the force trowel. Although, the empty compartment section the towels and tablets slide in to gets filled with dirt making it difficult to slide it back together. Getting all the nitty gritty out was not easy and cost time. The places I camped were scarce on water so I couldn’t spare my own. This led to the towel and tablets section getting stuck and loosing my tablets I had stored when it broke free. The towels were super nice and used minimal water. The problem is having to buy towels and tablets all the time while on a thru hike and toilet paper is cheaper. It’s great for 5-7 day trips, but not ideal for a long thru hike. I will still carry the trowel on my thru hike. I like it lot.
