Great for New Players

I played the solo version and loved it. I have DM the party version for some of my friends who are new to D&D. I would definitely suggest that an experienced DM run this, so they are more familiar with D&D mechanics. It provides great story, settings, and characters, but does not provide extended informations of rules. It gives helpful tips for how to keep the mystery and portray characters well. I am currently running this for the second time with a different group of players and they are having a great time with it. It helps that we all love murder mysteries.

A fun evening in

There's no sugar coating that it's a choose your own adventure book with dice, and that's awesome. I had a blast running through it on my night off with my poor murder hobo's werewolf (longtooth shift plus path of the wild barbarian). Replayability will depend on the player, but there are some fun magic items, NPCs, and scenario's that can be used in any game. Perfect for the forever GM that just wants a night off.

Great mystery adventure

Low level module. No hordes of goblins, but a brutal murder in the streets of a rural town. The party is the task force with a good mix of investigations and action. Everyone has something to hide and a dark secret lurks in the darkness, hiding from light.
