Everything worked flawlessly
So I ordered the whole shebang for my Maytag Centennial which was the
Whirlpool metal hub, spanner wrench, and shim kit. The video Ben has to replace the nylon hub is pretty straight forward and I did not have any issues installing the metal hub. Obviously since the washer is 10 plus years old the spline was rusted and took a great deal of PB Blaster and prayer to remove the wash plate. Upon completion of the repair I ran the washer and the tabs on the hub had broken off and it didn't turn the wash plate. I contacted Ben's and they immediately sent me another which was installed and works flawlessly. I can't even tell when it is on the spin cycle it runs so smooth. Before the repair it sounded like a 500 pound gorilla was trying to get out. The one thing I might offer to Ben going forward with the metal hubs is to make those tangs at least 1/8th inch to reinforce against the stresses of the motor turning alternately in different directions. Other than that I am very grateful for your input and videos. Carry on!
