Timeless retro-futuristic Synth

The synth that is modeled in this plugin – the Polymoog, first released in 1975 – had a quite unique architecture, combining analog synthesis with aspects of electric organs (namely the frequency divider) which made it a fully polyphonic synth. In addition to a polyphonic multimode filter, it also has a (monophonic) 24 dB Ladder filter and a resonator bank. Xils Lab's emulation adds 4 effects (Reverb, Phaser, Delay & Chorus) that perfectly pair with the vibe of this synth. The sound of this synth clearly has a very distinct nostalgic character and many of its sounds evoke associations (like the famous "Vox Humana" sound). Nonetheless the sound has a "timeless" quality that makes it easy to integrate this synth in a modern sound environment, adding retro-futuristic vibes. One important thing to mention is the fact that the filter and resonator section as well as the 4 effects can be used as an effect plugin.

I think the most interesting Polymoog software. Very gritty and natural sounding.
