Sweet Memories

It was in 1985 when I visited my first love for a week in Versailles and I purchased 2 bol at a thrift store on Avenue des Etats Unis . I was just 20 years old. Ever since I cherished them. They survived 3 children and countless moves. When my husband recently used them to serve us a delicious bol of Café au lait he checked the mark on the bottom out of curiosity. Over coffee we researched the manufacturer, found out when the mark changed and that mine carry the old one. We were ready to buy some vintage ones off Etsy when my husband found your American website and not long after the exact same bols. It was a matter of minutes to buy 8 of them. They arrived well packaged a few days later. The modern ones are heavier by some 80g, are not exactly as tall, and the glaze is blue'ish white now not anymore yellowish white. But Café Au Lait is as delicious and we don't have to fear damage to the old ones.

The Perfect Bowl

We absolutely love the beauty, simplicity and durability of these bowls. We have used them for soup, rice, ice cream, and cereal so far. They are the perfect size for when we don’t want to use the larger pasta bowls.

Well made. A bit small

Very solid. Comfortable in the hand. Just a couple ounces too small for a breakfast bowl.
