Won't Repeat This Variety

When I read about the growth habit of the zucchini, I was excited to give this new variety a try. I will not be repeating using it after struggling with harvest issues. This variety sets very close to the body of the plant, and as a result, I have lost fruits because they hit a leaf stem and curl under and make removal difficult, if not impossible without breaking zucchini into pieces. I will say that the vigor of the plants is very good. But my repeated struggles with trying to get fruits out that have set too close to the main stem has turned me off this selection.

Reliable zucchini with excellent germination and growth

I've used the Noche for several years now and results are very consistent. I live in an area where I fully expect a killer frost June 20th even after weeks of warm weather. I've tried a number of other strains but have had variable results year to year. I get near 100% germination and growth when starting indoors. Can't say that for others. While not the highest volume of production per plant i always have more than enough slick dark green squash 6-8 inches for home use and sharing with neighbors. I've had no disease problems or squash bug issues that I had experienced in early producers. Try this out and you'll be pleased. Don't forget to hold a few 2 foot monsters for zucchini bread too.
