Little Bit of Heaven
We just purchased a 5-person outdoor sauna from SalusHeat, and we are in heaven! We put it on our deck, right next to the pool, with nature stretching out all around us. This time of year, we'd normally be closing up the pool for the season, but instead, we take saunas morning and night, and cool ourselves off with a dive in the pool!
It's early days, so I can't tell yet about the quality. The wood slats that we lean up against inside feel a little fragile, but that might just be me. And the flooring is odd--I think it's linoleum or something. But everything fits together snugly, and it gets up to the max (145 degrees) within about 15 minutes (at least in September temperatures). I was worried that the built-in speakers might be tinny, but they actually sound great (as we listen to meditation music and sound baths for the FULL sauna effect!).
Size-wise, there are four of us on the property, but so far, we've only had 3 of us in the sauna at once, which felt comfortable. Four will work, but pretty snugly. I don't imagine ever actually having 5 people at once. For two people, I'd probably recommend getting a 3- or 4-person sauna.
As far as set-up, the boxes are HEAVY. I mean, HEAVY. We're four tough women, but we decided to hire our neighbors (big burly dudes) to bring the boxes to the deck and build the thing for us. It took one guy 2.5 hours (which means it would've taken us 4-5 hours, so money well-spent as far as we're concerned).
We're curious to see how it holds up over time. We bought the cover to use during winter, and I think we'll string up a sail over the top next summer because it gets pretty brutally hot where we live. I'm not sure how much weather damage the outside can stand--and don't want to find out.
Oh--we also had a couple questions (about the winter cover, care for the wood, etc), and customer service was great. They answered my questions right away, and even reached back later with some additional material.
So so far, we're thrilled with our purchase!
