I love this item. I have a bench that I have been using for years. Always thought - "Wouldn't it be better if it had a bevel edge for better cutting as well as clearing the work surface?" Better yet a (not cutting) edge would be great for added use as a table butler in a pinch. AND have etched markings for measuring? This has it all. I am totally pleased and would highly recommend it to friends and family. Love the handle as it is made of hardwood that won't deteriorate from water, etc. Understand that the wood has what is called a "raised grain" as shipped. I was going to lightly sand and oil but after a bit of use decided that I liked the additional grip it provides so leaving it as is for now. Great product! I often thought of just grinding an edge on mine, just never got around to it.
