Winter Bedtime Stories

Not my favorite…

This one’s a miss for me. The stories are just a bit forced. Each one centers around a fruit of the spirit (which would’ve been great on their own), but in addition, the authors attempt to weave in pieces of the Biblical Christmas story. For example, the story on gentleness goes into how Mary had to be gentle with baby Jesus in the manger… maybe… but nothing like that is written in scripture. It’s not the purpose of that story. In my opinion, the Bible is filled with much more fitting stories/verses regarding this topic without the need to ad lib. It just seems a little unneeded/forced to me. With that being said, my 5 yo currently reaches for this one first at bedtime. She really relates to Millie the Mouse as she has recently developed a fear of the dark/monsters. Thank you for providing a story that reinforces what God says about fear and peace for littles.

Sweet and entertaining stories with lessons about the fruits of the spirit are read in a soothing voice with soft music in the background. My daughter enjoys them not just at bedtime.
