Mallo Crackle Weave Napkins
I was planning to weave a set of these lovely napkins in 4 different colors. Used Denim & Natural Mallo & JST Cottolin (genetian) for first sample. The finished napkin felt more like a washcloth than a napkin - a bit heavy (would be great for a towel). I wonder if I could use a thinner yarn (than Mallo) in the weft to get a lighter weight napkin - any suggestions? I did try 4/8 cotton for a sample but still quite thick. Also would like to make them a bit smaller - maybe ~14"x 14" finished size - by adjusting the warp by 4 threads in each of the five sections (36 rather than 40 count)?
Appreciated the quick service for the Mallo cones I ordered - but converting to Cdn$ makes it quite expensive but lovely to work with.
