weaving with Duet
Weaving with Duet can be a bit tricky as the tension can change as you go along. That said, this particular yarn was fine and caused no issues. I’ve had other colors of Duet break in the warp and some “get too loose” but this warped and wove with no issues.

Extra Special!
This was my second try with Duet, and it went very well. I think I had the right set this time for a dishtowel at 18 epi. It lays nice on the loom, holes closed in the wash and dry, feels good to touch. It really is a step up from 8/2 and worth the try.

Duet Cotton/Linen Table Runner
Every year I make something for my best friend's birthday. This year she requested an off white table runner that she could use with a favorite set of floral china. I have used Gist Yarn kits for several projects over the past two years and love the yarns so I decided to use a Gist yarn for this project. I chose Duet Cotton/Linen in Pearl because the color looked like exactly what my friend had requested and the description of the yarn sounded perfect for an elegant runner. I designed my own project instead of using a kit so I was a bit apprehensive about weaving with an unknown yarn. I made a small sample and was thrilled with the results. The yarn was very easy to weave with on a rigid heddle loom and after wet finishing appeared to have flecks of silver throughout that gave it a sparkly look. Having a successful sample gave me the confidence to go ahead with the runner and it turned out beautifully! I will definitely use this yarn again for any project that requires a light, elegant yarn.
