Paramo Womens Velez Jacket

Excellent product as always with Paramo and the staff at The Walking Hub were very helpful and knowledgable. Love that Paramo are actively promoting recycling of their products by giving a financial incentive to recycle your old Paramo items.

Very comfortable, lightweight windproof and waterproof jacket

I bought this Velez jacket mainly as a summer waterproof that could be rolled up compactly and it is very good for that. Compared to other waterproofs the fabric is comfortable against bare arms so could be worn with a vest or T shirt, and there are generous vents for air in warm conditions. The bigger surprise has been how useful it is in winter, at least down to around 0'C, keeping windchill and wet out very well with just a fleece or thermal underneath. The collar zips right up to the chin meaning you don't need a separate scarf, and the hood is the best design I've come across, moving with the head and with a peak that keeps rain away from glasses. It is easy to move the arms in and would work well for activities such as nordic walking, cycling and cross-country skiing. The only possible drawback is that the lightweight fabric is quite delicate, so you wouldn't want to use it for bramble-bashing, and it would be advisable to wrap up keys so that they don't make holes over time in the mesh pockets
