CaddyTalk Windy Laser Rangefinder

Okay rangefinder, terrible service

Service is a key aspect of every product. After loosing a Minion, I wanted to biy another, but they were/are sold out for weeks. Then I ordered a windy, with no other choice. After waiting weeks with no shipment, I contacted customer service and was told that the shipper wasn’t picking up packages, after the label was created. Finally got it, but instructions are difficult to understand and the wind option doesn’t work.

Handy unit but has issues

Here is S. Florida there is a lot of cart path only day during the summer. I wanted this rangefinder for the triangulation feature which seems to work within a few yards so mission accomplished. The wind feature does not seem to work correctly. I have tried several time during rounds of golf and the sensor will not turn on. I tried maybe 20-30 times. Keep in mind I did not purchase the rangefinder for the wind feature because it only measures the wind in your immediate location so in my opinion it’s kind of a gimmick. I have contacted customer service 2 time so far with no response. I can not find a phone number to speak with anyone directly. One more thing, I paid for expedited shipping which did not happen but they did refund the extra shipping charges. They seem to be a good company just not very responsive. I will probably keep the range finder for those rainy days and the times in need the triangulation feature.

So I have to say that the windy device when it reads the wind I don't believe gives an accurate change in distance unless the wind level is extremely high. The problem is I play in Houston Texas and we have gusts of wind and not constant wind and so it makes it difficult for the Windy to be as accurate because the wind changes. But the overall features of it are fantastic. And the caddy mode where you can triangulate is excellent. Overall, great product.
