RENEGADE FLASHLIGHT
Fenix, how in the world did you get so much light in such a small package? I have bought many different flashlights in my life, none have been equal to the LD31 RENEGADE. GREAT WORK FENIX

Fairly Good Flashlight
All manufacturers of tactical flashlights seem to be in some sort of Lumen contest to determine whom can build the smallest flashlight capable of signaling the space shuttle from the backyard. I don't really need ten thousand lumens. I need a light to help me get through the house at night. It's convenient if that light can brighten by steps to maybe a thousand lumens if I should ever need to blind raccons or oppossums in my backyard. . . or the neighbor's backyard. The light is good. . . it would be better if it had a magnetic base and no switches on the base which prevent it from doing a decent tailstand. Those two things are good design. But, I'm happy with it. I got a diffuser, and that's very convenient. Also got one flashlight for my wife. She wore out an old PD 50. She likes this one. . . it's more compact. I'm not sold on the new batteries ( I'd rather charge batteries in a charger so that I can have several spares to keep the light going out in the field by popping in a fresh battery instead of looking for a USB to charge from out in the woods. ) I'm not really a camper, but you get the idea. Battery swaps are superior to so-called handy dandy charging one battery directly. Oh well. It's a decent light, but Fenix could do so much better. I almost asked customer service if my old PD 50 could be repaired. . . but decided that it would cost as much as a new light, so I bought these two, and I'm okay with them. They could be designed better, but I'd buy one again if needed.

Excellent Camping Illuminator
I purchased this LD31 to accompany me on our 8 day, 7 night camping/hiking excursion in the Canadian Rockies from Banff to the Jasper mountain regions. An extra compatible 21700 battery was included. The two batteries greatly helped keep our cell phones charged! Extra illumination available in the LD31 was meant to help deter a bear at night at close range should that arise. The LD31 provided lighting for nighttime bathroom runs in campgrounds using the lowest power. We also hung the unit by its clip to provided loops in the tent with diffuser for preparation to sleep. I highly recommend this product!
