The Dawn Dress | Summer Bounty

Gorgeous pattern!

My favorite pattern yet! I have many CD dresses, several of which are dawn dresses. I think this pattern is my favorite yet. It's so whimsical and subtly colorful. The fabric is very soft, and as others have said, the sleeves are slightly "poofy," but it's really not that noticeable -- I am not a fan of poofy sleeves, and I kept it. I sized up because I'm 27 weeks pregnant, so hoping the bigger size fits well postpartum!

The best summer dress I’ve ever owned. It is so soft and light that Im not left sweating to death even in DC heat. I was skeptical at first because of the price tag, but this garment is extremely well-made and worth it. One note of caution though is that it is very sheer…when I’m just out and about its no big deal, but when Im teaching I do wear a slip with it.

The best pattern in a while!

I really wanted to love this, and I really do adore the fabric but the fit is so off. This run of the Dawn feels much more oversized. I’ve always loved the slight relaxed fit of the Dawn dress, but this feels like it runs a full size larger. I also really dislike the shape of this Dawn’s sleeves. They’re very voluminous and rounded, giving an almost linebacker feel… the fabric though is STUNNING! Easily my favorite in a long time and feels like the whimsical prints that brought me to love CD. I really wish this print was done in more silhouettes, like the Brynne rather than the Scout, an Emma or Katrina. I especially would have loved this in a mini - I think the Jodi in this would have been to die for. In all, it’s a beautiful fabric, but I’d recommend to size down.
