This is my first upscale sleeping bag. After getting it today and trying it out, I wrote this to my buddy: “Dude, I bought a new sleeping bag. It is AMAZING! Like my mother’s womb amazing. It’s like crawling back into my amniotic sac and reconnecting the umbilical cord amazing.” I deliver babies in my job, in case you didn’t notice. I love the elastic sheath on back to connect the sleeping pad. I roll a lot in my sleep and change positions. This will be a big help. Same thing goes for the pillow sheath. I can never keep my pillow where it needs to be while camping. The pockets were really well thought out. There are internal and external pockets in strategic locations that will be very useful. I also noticed that the zippers were carefully designed, too. A pet peeve is when the cloth around the zippers gets tangled up in the zipper while opening or closing it. That doesn’t seem to be an issue with the way that these were designed and the surrounding fabric was stitched tightly away from the zipper. I’m also a big fan of the magnets along the main zipper. I sleep hot, and this will allow me to have a little bit of cover while not trapping too much air when I unzip the bag while sleeping. I’m also a huge fan of the side expanders. I like to bend my legs out while I sleep. This will give me more room. I wish that it had a touch more room, but this is a lot better than any other bag that I have. I’m taking this bag to the Alaska bush for a ten day DIY moose/bear hunt in September. I’m also taking it back to an Idaho wilderness area for a solo deer hunt in November. I’ll post updates regarding the bag’s performance in those conditions.
