I got mine in December after it briefly came back in stock in my size (medium).
I am 5’10” 172 lbs 41” chest 34” waist and the medium fit like it was made for me. Not much room for layers but you won’t need them. The Bedford cord is super wind resistant and the full wool lining provides cozy warmth without overheating.
The only thing I would say to be aware of is that since the wool lining extends into the sleeves the seam in armpit area is noticeable when wearing it. And I wish there was an inside chest pocket.
Love the Olive color and undeniable U.S.A. made quality. Highly recommended.

A Perfect Winter Jacket
The Mariner Heavy excels in the extreme cold and is an outstanding winter jacket. It is substantial with room for layering (but not bulky), super warm and toasty (fully lined plus knit cuffs are amazing), and versatile for work, casual and formal wear. This past year was my first opportunity to test it out and it performed flawlessly in all conditions throughout a tough New England winter.

beautiful
This is now my favorite winter coat. It's been perfect for winter in NYC. I never imagined removing my peacoat but this coat has been in heavy rotation since it arrived. It is made with the same quality and attention to detail that I've come to expect from Freenote. I also have a first generation Mariner Jacket (flannel lining) that has served me well for years during autumn and spring. If you're familiar with previous versions of the Mariner, know that this coat is substantially heavier and warmer. My only critique is that the wool liner can be a bit itchy through lighter shirts. Sleeves are also fully lined. Freenote has become my go-to brand as their quality and detail are unmatched. I'll be wearing this coat until the day my son steals it from me.
