NT300 Electric Outboard Motor

Despite its shortcomings, it’s still the best option.

The NT300 has been a game changer, the ability to use our own battery has been perfect. We’ve been able to go large aH and add solar to the dinghy to keep it topped off. There are a few issues, first the Anderson Connection rusted out after about a year and needed to be butt spliced to move the Anderson to an area where it wasn’t exposed to the elements, and leaving the tiller arm down is NOT recommended, after about 25 months of use as a full time liveaboard sailor using it as our daily driver the tiller rubbed through and the tiller’s water seal was compromised causing the controller board to short out and die. Still, I loved it enough to pay full price for a second one and was so dependent on it that I had it sent overnight express. And I plan on trying to fix the broken one to use on a second dinghy.

I bought this motor along with a 36V Lithium battery to move my 21 ft. Precision 21 sailboat in and out of the harbor. It works perfectly for that, and it works far better than the trolling motor I had before. The setup has even gotten me a couple nautical miles back to my slip when the wind died down.
