I think of the open comb 72 plate as the perfect midpoint. Don’t be reluctant to try open combs. They are no harder to use than the safety bar version and you gain efficiency.

Great Quality

I have several base plates for my LUPO. I like open combs generally, and this .76 gap version seems to hit the sweet spot for daily shaving: not too aggressive and not too mild. My beard is average and my skin is on the slightly susceptible side, and this version of the LUPO seems to be efficient without being too aggressive. It gets the job done with two passes most days. Like all of the many Razorock razors I have, this one is precisely manufactured, always seats the blade the same way and is consistent. Like all Razorbacks, it is precisely made, but not a piece of jewelry, just as Razorock states in its online description of all of its CNC machined razors. There's nothing not to like.
