Love this jar. Sturdy glass not like others that are very thin and prone to break easily. Easy to mix ingredients and easy to clean. Cap keeps starter fresh and allows gases from the starter to escape. Liked this jar so much, I recently ordered the quart jar and Goldie.

Small & fragile

My first one had a chip of glass come off the out bottom rim but it was replaced quickly with no problem. My feeling is that it just seems too small.... even if you don't need a large batch of starter I would opt for the quart jar instead of the pint. Also calling these "jars" is a bit misleading imho...they are no where near as durable or hefty feeling as a canning jar for example....but they do fit well in the Goldie warmer so just be aware you need to be careful when handling them....

Sour House quart sized jars.

I bought two of these jars. They were well packed and delivered in excellent condition. I am enjoying using them so much as there is not so much cleaning up to do after use. I just started my second jar and cleaned up the first one (so easy). I am very pleased with these sour dough starter jars. Can highly recommend them to anyone who is interested in making sour dough starter.
