Description
Our mighty 888 was designed specifically for chasing Bonefish but is just at home wrangling big freshwater species like Carp, Pike and monster Muskie too. Given there’s not a flat where the wind doesn’t blow we’ve given the 888 an extra pow...

Love this!
This my fourth Epic fastglass! (Have the 476, 580 and 686). Well, that speaks for itself... I only fish fastglass now, and I love every single of them! Needed a heavier rod for those big pike flies and it works out great! So much fun. Smooth as butter for sure. If you consider buying one, just go for it. You will retire your carbon rod 😉

Reference 8wt 888 Fast GlassFly Rod
From butt to tip the 888 FastGlass Fly Rod that I received from Swift Fly Fishing was superbly finished with excellent quality parts and materials. Although I found the rod a little heavy, it was nicely balanced and cast smooth, tight loops with large popping bugs and streamers at short, medium and long
distances. The only downside was that I could not compare the 8wt with the lighter 6wt FastGlass , the heavier 10wt nor with any of their Carbon Fiber rods. They do offer a full refund up to 30 days for any of their rods if the buyer is not satisfied. My only reservation is where do I go for service and repair in 8 to 10 years if needed. Guess I’ll cross that body of water when I encounter it.

Blue loveliness
Having previously brought the 580 and being over the moon with it I decided to buy the 888 as I needed something heavier. The 888 doesn’t disappoint the build quality is amazing the rod casts like butter and loads beautifully ,it has plenty of power in the butt bit without losing the feel of what you would hope and expect. Both the reference 580 and 888 have become my go to rods replacing my Sages.
