I have pretty small arms, so I had to size these down by adjusting the straps a fair bit. Other than that, they are incredibly well made. Armour inserts would be easy to fit inside; open up the velcro pocket, slide them in and close it. Bam! You're good to go. I hope they'll serve me well and for the many adventures ahead. :)
